A native of North Carolina, Al received a bachelor's degree in business administration from East Carolina University before joining the management training program at Wachovia Bank, where he went on to become a dealer credit manager. From there, he joined Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant in Raleigh.
After 25 years with Resource Management Associates in both Raleigh and Louisburg, Al is now a Principal and founding partner of Tar River Wealth Planning. His areas of expertise encompass retirement planning and wealth preservation; however, he also does a great deal of work with financial and estate planning. He works with individuals, families, and businesses in a consultative role, to provide training, education, and support in a wide range of financial services.
Al grew up in Louisburg, NC where he still lives with his wife, Tracye. His commitment to the area is evident in his volunteerism. He has served in the past as Commissioner for the Louisburg Historic Preservation Commission, President of the Franklin County Community Foundation, Secretary of the local Ducks Unlimited Chapter, Secretary for the board of Crosscreek Charter School and served many roles in his church. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and friends.
