Ruth has worked in the financial services industry alongside her husband, Louis, and son, Al, since 1989, providing administrative services to the family practice. She attended Mount Vernon Junior College and Louisburg College after graduating from Salem Academy. Ruth enjoys volunteering and has previously served as chairman of the Franklin County Arts Council, treasurer for the Northeast Piedmont Chorale and treasurer, senior warden, and vestry member for St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Most recently, she has been the bookkeeper for the chorale and secretary for the Franklin County Community Foundation, as well as an active choir member and bookkeeper for St. Paul's. Ruth also enjoys singing, reading, and attending soccer games and horseback riding events with her grandchildren.
